The Renewable Energy Association is a student-led engineering and sustainability organization at UCLA.

REA's mission is cultivate an understanding of the importance of various forms of renewable energy and their effects on our environment, economy and society while encouraging our community’s clean energy development through technical projects, local initiatives, and educational outreach programs.

There are two main ways that REA achieves this mission:

1. Internal projects allow members of REA to work in interdisciplinary teams to achieve sustainability goals in the field of renewable energy. Current projects include the Biodiesel Team, the Renewable Natural Gas Team, and the Learn & Teach team. REA is working on developing a Wind Team for the 2020-2021 academic year.

2. External events are an opportunity to engage the UCLA campus in renewable energy issues and partner with other sustainability and engineering organizations to expand our reach. They also allow us to develop strong relationships with the campus administration, facilities management, and members of industry. Examples of such events include the research, policy and industry panels, career fairs and info sessions, campus tabling events and more.
